My Profile

As a forth-year undergraduate student of English Literature and Chinese at the University of Liverpool, I have a fascination with how we communicate - be it through linguistics or bicultural interaction.
My focus of interest is primarily Chinese politics and culture, etymology of Mandarin characters and social movements surrounding women and the LGBTQ+ community. I have been fortunate enough to visit and volunteer in China four times.
I am also leader of the student-led fundraising group for Refugee Women Connect, a Liverpool-based charity providing mental health support and admin assistance for refugee and asylum-seeking women. Being actively involved within the charity permits me to have insight into the world refugee crisis and its personal effects.
