The leaders of tomorrow
Yahaya Alphonse is an undergrad with a degree in Biology and pursuing a second degree in Political Science. He is member of the student union as the Diversity Representative, addressing the needs of all the diverse cultures and a presidential candidate for the 2020 elections. He has extensive experienc in Model UN and debating. Yahaya was one of the 3 delegates chosen from Canada, to attend the Global Diplomatic Forum with 100 other delegaets from over 75 countries. He sits on the steering committee of the African and Carribean Cultural Association of Northern Ontario. Yahaya Alphonse has strong knowledge in politicis as well as the sciences. He has completed an internship with the Plant Ecology lab at Algoma University, studying the evolution of forage crops over time through artificial selection. He also worked with the Soil Ecology Lab and studied the impacts of drought on spruce trees and the roles endo and ectomycorrhizae may play in drought resistance.
